Reports to:
Chief Excuetive Officer
Train the farmers/producers of the company on implementation of all GAP practices including but not limited to:
· Concept, importance and general implementation diagram of GAPs.
· Advantages and Benefits of Using the GAPs and risks and disadvantages of not applying GAPs.
· The methods of bringing the improvement in quantity and quality of products; should provide a quantifiable measure to set specific annual improvement targets
· Improvements brought by implementation of GAPs in the working conditions of male and female staff.
· Selection of Sites for Production
· Soil Preparation
· Crops Handling; pruning, cutting and thinning of fruit trees.
· Water Usage and Management
· Use of Agri-chemicals
· Fertilizer types and usage
· Preparation and Use of Organic Manure
· Handling Animals in the field
· Best ways of Harvesting
· Best way of packaging
· Best Food Transportation Methods.
· Selling strategies
· Record Keeping for better control of production
§ Awareness of customer that you used GAPs
· Has field knowledge and preferably has worked with large farms and orchards.
· Has excellent communication skills and can work in and adapt to the Afghan culture.
· M.Sc in Agriculture/PhD preferred
· International training and consultancy experience
· Specialization and experience in GAPs
· Has at least 10 years of experience in this field
Deliverables:
· Training agenda to be approved by the project.
· All Presentations and support training material to be copied on a CD, memory stick or hardcopies for distribution to participants on the first day of the workshop.
· Pre- and post-delivery evaluation forms
· A list of the needed measuring instruments to conduct the audit.
· Develop a GAP manual for the company
As well as train the company employees generally on:
· Good Manufacturing Practices
· Good Hygienic Practices
· Good Transportation Practices
· Good Manufacturing Practices
