Job Summary

The U.S. Mission in Kabul is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for position of General Services Clerk with the GSO Section located at Camp Alvarado (Hamid Karzai International Airport).

Duties & Responsibilities

Tracks all incoming and outgoing personnel, including USDH, TCNs, Contractors, and LES for all agencies under COM authority and update Post's Kabul Embassy Personnel Accountability System (KEPAS) database, working in conjunction with the GSO Expeditors and Passenger Services Personnel. Serves as a back-up Alvarado housing assistant. Provides administrative support to GSO operations, to include Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) activities, in service of Camp Alvarado personnel.

EXPERIENCE: Three years of progressively responsible experience in procurement and related fields is required, at least two of which UN, NGO or western Embassy.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Familiar with and knowledge of local sources of supply. Knowledge of DOS procurement regulations and procedures. Must understand local pricing practices, how credit cards work and good working knowledge of internet search engines.

Education Requirements: High school is required.

LANGUAGE: English - Level 3 (good working knowledge), Dari - Level 3, Pashto - Level 3 (good working knowledge).
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Able to use Microsoft Work, Outlook, Excel, Internet, Google, etc. Be able to type 20-30 wpm on a computer be able to read and understand cataloging and on-line ordering instructions, ability to read, understand and follow complicated DOS and Federal procurement regulations, instructions and procedures.
