Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Officer, the incumbent is expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities, but not limited to
Perform all tasks related to generator installations in the compound and common area premises
Install new generators including allied works to complete power generating stations in the compound and offices
Identify sites and advise on platforms and generator house, if required
Carry out scheduled routine maintenance i.e. changing oil and filters as well as daily refueling of the generators.
Carry out emergency repairs of generators as and when required.
Provide lists of spare parts for diesel engines, alternators and control panels as well as necessary tools and equipment, well in advance
Monitor tools/equipment and spare parts inventory.
Ensure use of the spare parts in a most productive manner.
Maintain operations logs for the generators.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
3. Monitoring and Progress Controls
Ability to troubleshoot and identify problems and solutions to resolve generator operations issues
Regularly keep track of maintenance schedules to keep the generators/electrical appliances serviceable as the needs arise
Ensure that generators/electrical appliances are in good condition so that maximum benefit could be attained from them
Ensure that end-users can expect availability of Generators/electrical appliances problem at all times whenever required.

Demonstrate a client-oriented approach, courtesy, and ability to work with people of different national cultural backgrounds
High sense of responsibility; operate in compliance with regulations and rules
Ability to complete various forms and records, including requisitions, repair and servicing forms
Must be willing to work longer hours, weekends and in shifts when required
Qualifications and Experience
Secondary Diploma required. Certificate in electronics and mechanics highly preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in installation, maintenance and repairs of generators and electrical appliances
Previous relevant experience with UN/UNOPS, local or international organizations an asset
Fluent in the local language of the duty station
Intermediate English skills (speaking, reading and writing) a must
Demonstrated knowledge of electrical loads for proper sizing of generators and ability to design and complete generator installations
Knowledge of material specifications and spare parts for diesel engines, alternators and control panels
