Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate performing of activities with FRRD regarding the Norplan field activities.
Should familiar with the geographical and security condition of Faryab province
Conduct rapid survey for 200 groundwater features(river, springs, dug well and drilled well)
Conduct soil salinity survey in the selected locations
Conduct precipitation survey in the selected locations
Conduct river profile survey in the selected location
Proper measure and record the velocity and flow rate of river and spring.
Proper measure and record of field parameters like salinity, pH, ORP, temperature and DO from the features (river, springs, dug well and drilled well)
Proper record rainfall data from meteorological stations
Proper record GPS location/geo-references (digital latitude, longitude and elevation) of features
Proper take water samples from features for field, chemical and isotopic analysis and mark and send to the DACAAR office
Proper take samples from soil, rainfall and snowfall for field, chemical and isotopic analysis and mark and send to the DACAAR office
Should be able to calibrate pH/conductivity meter
Should be able to keep the measurement instrument in the operation situation
Provide site information like photographs, land use, geomorphology, hydrogeology/geology and other required information
Able to perform well pumping test for finding well hydraulic properties
Able to record any use of the river water for drinking, livestock and irrigation
Should be doing any other instruction and activities given by supervisor

Job Requirements

University degree in Geology

Experience: Two years experience in relevant field

Other qualifications’ an advantage: GPS & Photography

Languages: Dari, Pashto & English
