The GIS trainer will be working in coordination with IT Program manager to conduct GIS training to the course participants at Kabul Polytechnic university.
Develops GIS Training Curriculum in cooperation with ELCLC IT Program Manager, Kabul Polytechnic University Faculty of Geology and Mines, GIS Department.
plan, prepare and deliver at least three GIS Training courses to students of the Kabul Polytechnic faculty of geology - GIS department
Assists ELCLC ESP Instructors to develop ESP Tests and teaching materials for GIS Department
Assists Regional IT manager and IT instructors to conduct the GIS Distance learning program
Maintains GIS labs and troubleshoot GIS software related problems
Prepares hand outs and teaching materials using voice recorder, Screen Capturing software, provide links, references to online resources other materials to provide resources for students check out
Presents lessons using PowerPoint slides.
Provides students textbook and reference books
Works out practical student assignments focusing on real-world application of computer skills learned.
Drafts and finalized placement test, pre tests and Post test quarterly
Drafts and gives periodic test and final test and work out a system where all those marks contribute to the final grading.
Works out a grading system where test, class participation and attendance are recorded regularly and that should determine the final grading for each module.
Collaborates with regional IT Manager and IT instructors
Cooperates with Regional IT Manager troubleshoot lab PCs for malfunctioning and internet connectivity problem if needed.
Makes sure the attendance is taken every day and poor attendance is reported to the line manager.
Works closely with the Center Manager, GIS Department and other instructors on the class timing and closely coordinates with them
Conducts himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to ELCLC.
Submits monthly student progress report to the ELCLC IT Program Manager and M&E Department.
Participates in various workshops and trainings conducted by either Host University or ELCLC with the aim to implement the methodologies in class and transfer the knowledge to other IT Instructors working there.
Conducts regular communication with IT Program Mangers and provide updates about the program progress and problems.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor degree in GIS relevant Field
Two years of experience in this said field.
Excellent Verbal and written English skills, Fluent in Dari/Pashto
Knowledge of engineering software(Auto CAD,3Ds Max, Maya, SAP, Civil 3D ) will be an asset
