The Grant Officer (G.O) will provide support to the Assistant Grants manager (AGM) in overseeing all grant making, award, and monitoring processes for a designated grants portfolio. S/he will work closely with Grants Manager in performing other duties in support of the overall grants activities.
Under the direct supervision of the Grants manager the GO will be involved in collecting and sorting the information for grantees’ progress reports. The role of the GO will be limited to matching the project supporting deliverables for validation check of grant activities reported in grantee progress report, maintaining and updating grant report tracking sheets.
• Provide support to the AGM manager in developing projects activity detailed sheets by providing list of planned activities as per project work plans and proposal and by liaising with grantee organizations to identify time frame for the activities planned.
• Work closely with the AGM manager in drafting sub-granting agreements, contacting grantee organizations for submission of monthly activity highlights, impact reports and quarterly progress reports and success stories.
• Responsible for liaising with finance department for review of quarterly financial reports.
• Support collecting and sorting the information for grant applications, proposals screenings and GTEC sessions. The role of the GO will be limited to collecting and registering application requests and assisting in preparation of GTEC facilitation session.
• Maintain grant projects documentation in hard copy and electronic format.
• Participate in grant projects field visits as required.
• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
University degree or 1-3 years experience in related field.
• Experience working with an international NGO or UN agency.
• Previous USAID-funded grant experience and understanding of applicable rules and regulations for USAID cooperative agreements highly desirable.
• Demonstrated proficiency in English language, both written and spoken, in addition to two main local languages, Dari and Pashto.
• Advanced computer skills to include Internet, Word, Excel, and database use and management.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Attention to detail, ability to track and follow up on multiple tasks independently while keeping all stakeholders informed in a proactive manner.
• Excellent cross cultural skills, ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural NGO environment, with respect, professionalism and gender sensitivity
