Job Summary

Pajhwok Afghan News Agency is hiring Graphic Designer & Video Editor.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design eye-catching graphics for news articles, social media posts, infographics, and advertisements, ensuring alignment with the brand's style and message.
• Create layouts and graphics for digital content, including news reports, feature stories, and special editions.
• Edit news footage, interviews, and informative video segments for online platforms and social media.
• Craft compelling video narratives by adding graphics, transitions, and effects to enhance storytelling.
• Handle video encoding, compression, and formatting for various platforms. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to video production.
• Collaborate closely with journalists, editors, and other team members to understand story requirements and develop appropriate visual content.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Literature, or relevant Social Sciences. (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience:

• At least two years of progressively responsible work experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of this position.

Skills / Requirements:

• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, 3D Max) and other relevant software.
• Strong storytelling abilities with exceptional graphic design and video editing skills, capable of tailoring content for different channels.
• Proven experience as a graphic designer and video editor, preferably in a news or media environment.
• Knowledge of motion graphics and 3D design is a plus.
• Adaptive design skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
• Collaborative, energetic, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
