Duties & Responsibilities

The greenery planner must work under direct supervision of Public facilities manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage and organize the works and update a detail work plan (weekly, monthly and annually)

To be able to use the Urban Development rules and guides to develop the Kabul New City Greenery plans.

Develop and introduce methods, manuals, tools, guide lines, standards and processes for development of Kabul new city.

Develop, review and finalization of terms of references for Kabul New City greenery plans and detail designs.

Participate in drafting of Request for Proposals for implementation greenery plans and detail designs for Kabul New City.

Participate in review of proposals of developers and contractors of Kabul New City.

The greenery planner should have the knowledge of tree plantation, choose the colors of flowers to be planted in the given area, the types of shrubs, trees, select the color and shape of sidewalk tiles and also pick the lampshades.

Basic knowledge of irrigation systems at plains and elevated areas.

Knowledge of soil characteristics

While designing or reviewing plan of a greenery concept, a greenery planner must keep in mind the topography of the surroundings. He should be aware about the drainage system, the pipelines, the kind of soil, possible vegetation that can be grown and most importantly, the ecosystem that can be maintained by developing a greenery concept.

Develop TORs and review proposals of greenery and parks projects.

overseeing the design of a variety of projects, including urban regeneration schemes, pedestrian schemes, road or retail schemes, and maintaining the character of sites of natural beauty;

Conducting preliminary studies of the site (including contours, soil, ecology, buildings, and roads).

Preparing, presenting and reviewing of greenery plans.

Liaising with other professionals on the project.

Job Requirements

Bachelor degree in architecture, Master degree will be more preferable.

Minimum five years experience in relevant field, three years for master degree.

Previous experience in greenery planning, township development or city planning.

Experience in using computer and soft ware package such as work, excel, power point, Auto CAD.

Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Afghan national language.

Having knowledge about climate of Afghanistan such as dry climate of Dehsabz.
Experience/personal skills:

Ability to work under pressure

Should have leader ship and team player skills.

Being familiar in planning and designing of parks, greenery, plantation and land escaping.
