Job Summary

The Handyman maintains the interior and exterior buildings of the office. Service and maintenance of equipments such as generator and water-pumps/repairing and maintenance of electricity are also part of the daily duties. A resourceful and all-round skilled person is preferred, but due to the multitude of task the Handyman may also temporary supervise external hired skilled labour.
The Handyman reports to the Assistant Admin.

Duties & Responsibilities

To fix all the electrical, plumbing, and masonry painting problems of the office.
To solve the carpentry and painting problems of the premises and equipment of the ILF-A related offices
To keep all the electrical equipment of the ILF-A in good running condition
To change the oil and filters of the generators and to oil the fans, water pumps and other equipment when needed
To turn on and off the office generators and others machinery when needed.
To keep a proper record of the materials purchased and used and also of the non-functional equipment or the ones with the outsider workshops for repair
To try his best to repair all office related equipment in the office if not possible in the office then in the bazaar
To report to the Administrator and demand any repair or spare parts required for the machinery
To supply fuel from station to office for heaters and generators of ILF-A.

Job Requirements

Graduate of 12th grade (Baccalaureate) Preferably from Technical schools/colleges
At least 3 years experiance in a similar position, preferably experience of work with a NGO
basic training and experience in electrician ,masonry, pluming, carpentry works, etc are preferred
To have experience in repairing and servicing buildings
Fluent in Dari, Pashto, written and spoken, English is an advantage
Honest, active and well mannered
Being an Afghan citizen
