Hotel Inter-Continental Kabul was inaugurated officially on 09th September 1969. The hotel is situated on a hill top with eye-catching views of Kabul city Bagh-e-Bala Amir Abdurrahman’s summer palace and the Hindu Kush mountain Range.

The hotel Inter-Continental Kabul is fully air-conditioned and centrally heated. All the rooms are completely equipped with modern facilities like private baths/shower, 21-inch TV in each room with 70 international channels includes of BBC and CNN news and telephone.

Job Summary

As a key member of the Executive Management team, the Head of Finance‌/Admin will report to CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The Head of Finance‌/Admin will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all finance/admin-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing and other Admin related responsibility as per TOR.

Duties & Responsibilities

1.       Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial/Admin objectives.

2.       Responsible for preparing the financial statements on annual basis or as required in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

3.       Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.

4.       Review of Management Reports (i.e. Cash flow reports, Liquidity reports, budgets, compliances) to identify financial needs, exercise budget controls and ensure organization’s financial stability.

5.       Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.

6.       Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.

7.       Responsible for preparing the monthly/quarterly and annual financial reports and plans.

8.       Build and maintain two-way mutual relationships with bankers, investors and shareholders to ensure adequate financial resources are available when required and any extra money is invested to ensure diversification.

9.       Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.

10.    Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company

11.    Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.

12.    In accordance with hotel registration documents (Asas Nama), the head of finance/Admin is responsible to manage hotel affairs in the absence of the CEO for the task assigned to him.

13.    Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

14.    Making sure all eligible taxes from rents, purchases, consultants and staff salaries has been deducted and transferred to the government specific account 

15.    Make sure that vouchers are accurately coded and numbered. Tracked and recorded into Quick Books.

16.    Ensure that policies and procedures exist and communicated with the relevant staff /offices in order to comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements of government.

17.    Providing training, orientation and technical support related to finance and administration to all relevant staff and partners.

18.    Designing, establishing and maintaining appropriate project financial management system including budgeting, accounting, reporting and etc.

19.    Manage and coordinate the organization finance, administration and other related functions and tasks.

20.    The head of Admin/Finance supervises the Admin/Finance unit and reports directly to the CEO.

Job Requirements

MBA/CPA and ACCA finalist is highly desirable.

8+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in real estate development or property management.

Other Skills & Abilities:

·      PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) and strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel is highly required.

·       Fluency in English, Dari or Pashto.
