Job Summary

The Hydrology Engineer works under the overall supervision of the Transportation Infrastructure Director. The Hydrology Engineer is responsible for producing design and technical documents in compliance with international and KM standards (AASHTO, FHWA, etc.).

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interpret hydrological data from all available sources and evaluate them.
• Develop sustainable drainage solutions for assigned projects.
• Employ statistical and hydrological modeling techniques to calculate stream volume and flow.
• Specify dimensions of the drainage channels based on hydrological calculations.
• Prepare hydrological analysis and reports for bridge and road projects.
• Analyze and model watershed runoff, channels, floodplain delineation, erosion and sedimentation and flood frequency.
• Provide flood modeling and scouring depth calculations for foundation of bridges and other structures.
• Be proficient in use of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and other relevant software.
• Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the Transportation Infrastructure Director and Head of Road Design Department.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Education:                    

Minimum B.Sc. in Hydrology, Hydraulics, Water Supply or Civil Engineering, M.Sc. is preferable

Experience:                 

Minimum 3 years of experience in hydrology calculations.
