Ministry of Education (MoE), Multi Location
Ministry of Education is planning to re-structure its LAN and WAN networks at the main and sub offices. Under the supervision of ICT Director, the applicant should the capability to installs, maintains, troubleshoots and upgrades Ministry of Education Local and Wide Area networks. The ICT officer will also be responsible to monitor the ICT Infrastructure progress and report to ICT Director on daily basis. Furthermore, He/ She Responsible for the operation and administration of the MoE internal networks, servers, email and network security systems after successful implementation of the project. He/She should have the capability to Configuration and set-up of all new systems required by Ministry of Education in their new set up. The ICT officer will primarily deal with the overall health of the new MoE network, server’s deployment, security, and ensures that the WAN network connectivity meets the set goals of the Project.
Technical Skills
Ability to configure and maintain all new services required by MoE in the new ICT infrastructure like Domain Services/ISA Server/ Websense/ File Server/Exchange Server
Hands on knowledge of Network Management Systems and Storage Area Network (Cisco Works)
Ability to configure and maintain Network devices (CISCO Switches/Routers/ASA Firewalls/ Cisco IPS Appliances/Wireless Controller/NAC/ACS etc)
Ability to configure and maintain Cisco unified IP telephony system (CISCO Unity/CUCM/UOM)
Having strong knowledge of Cisco Telepresences system
Hands on practical experience and Ability to configure and maintain Wireless connectivity among different sites located at different geographic locations ( WiMax/WiFi/Microwave/ )
Excellent Knowledge in IP Routing (RIP/ IGRP/ EIGRP/ OSPF/ BGP / ISIS)
To manage the MoE network infrastructure, servers and client computers.
Responsible for regular maintenance of all ICT related equipments and to resolve problems in hardware and software.
Provide support and guidance to MoE staff in the use of ICT.
Produce audits and reports on ICT use and, demonstrate best value in provision of products and services.
Responsible for setting up security parameters and ensuring virus check are implemented on daily basis.
Monitor the use of hardware and software.
Maintain the existing MoE network to an agreed standard, by performing upgrades, new installation s and carrying out routine procedures.
Assist MoE team members to develop their skills and knowledge in basic use and maintenance of ICT equipments.
Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job role.
Must have a Bachelor Degree in a relevant subject area, including information technologies, communication technologies or other relevant area. The candidate must have Cisco certified in CCNP and CCIP.
A minimum of 3 years experience working in an ICT support environment
Pragmatic and analytical approach to problem solving
Ability to manage and priorities own workload and work independently.
Proven ability to work in a team
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
Ability to train and mentor non IT Staff and members within the organization
Experience in small to medium business networking (LAN and client Server Technologies)
