About ACTIN AGAINST HUNGER (AAH)

Job Summary

Manage the network and communication equipment, ensure that it functions properly and check that the users know how it operates.

Duties & Responsibilities

Objective 1 : Ensure smooth functioning of ICT equipment and network
Activities:
- Supervise the data saving system ;
- Provide software support to the users for information sharing, electronic mail;
- Ensure preventive maintenance of the servers;
- Check that the network equipment functions properly (server, switches, pathways…
- Install HF / VHF radio on the Action Contre la Faim vehicles and/or bases
- Programming of channels in accordance with ACF Afghanistan standards and regulations before sending equipment on the field.

Objective 2 : Ensure network and ICT equipment administration
Activities:
- Ensure security of the network (antivirus – access – saving) ;
- Check that all daily/weekly maintenance tasks have been carried out;
- Manage the profiles and rights of the users;
- Capitalize the network’s use by creating or updating instruction manuals.
- Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers, avoiding the use of intermediaries, create a suppliers data base
- Maintenance and /or repair to be done with previous go ahead from the logistics Coordinator.
- Follow ACF procedures when purchasing any ICT equipment

Objective 3: Tracking movement & database management of mission equipment
Activities
- Follow up on ALL movement of ACF equipment sent to the field
- Follow up on status of the equipment,
- Proceed to checking and maintenance/repair of equipment to be done upon arrival in Kabul.
- Register ALL equipment transfer or coming from bases in the database, and is responsible for appropriate identification and transfer documentation
- Organise regular field visits for technical support needed at field level (installation of radio/computer network, problem solving…) & physical inventory.
- Checking of ICT equipments & accessories (Physical presence and status of the equipment) by updating on database, inventory & stock report format.
- Prepare internal orders for ICT equipments and accessories (under prior agreement of Logistics Coordinator).
- Follow up and ensure Data backup of all ACF departments on hard drive ( national & expatriates staffs) on a monthly basis
- Responsible of the equipment list

Objective 4: Train the users
Activities:
- Explain the structure of the database server;
- Train those who operate the network to use it with moderation;
- Provide training in the use of the internal and external electronic mail system and the database server
- Basic training / introduction of computers hardware and software and radios to newly arrived locals staffs and expatriates

Job Requirements

Diploma / Level of studies: High school leaving certificate + 2 years’ higher education in network management

Required skills: Rigour – Good communication with people – Organizational capacity
Previous experience in humanitarian and/or development
Fluency in Dari, Pashto and English
