Primary Role:
• Maintain and troubleshoot internet, email, and computer facilities in the concerned offices as required.
• Maintain and keep network environment up to date with technological development.
Main Responsibilities:
A. Maintain IT Infrastructure
1. Troubleshooting internet, email, and computer facilities in the concerned offices as required.
2. Ensure to maintain, troubleshoot and operate Buffalo Network Backup Devices for CRS Kabul users and schedule regular data backup of the users and servers.
3. All the HQ tools; Belmanage, CRS Throughput Test Tool, Speed Test Tools, etc are always up to date and the services are running on all the computers, servers, and other devices.
4. Maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft Certificate Authority Server for the email services.
5. Maintain IT resources for CRS Kabul and Kabul guest house, of all electronic equipment, support equipment, peripherals and software, server, server hubs, firewalls, hardware and Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN).
6. Servers, computers and overall IT peripherals are protected from virus, vulnerability and new external threats like spams, spy wares/adware and others.
7. Protect Servers and Internal Network (WAPs) from Viruses, etc by double side monitoring through ISA Firewall and Security Protection of WAPs
8. Regular internet performance checkup; using CRS speed test tools and report regular irregularities of the link to Overseas IT consultant.
9. Generate ISA Firewall reports and DHCP server to ensure normal and secure operation of the network.
10. Keep technology updated based on available and affordable services in consultation with IT consultant.
11. Liaise with computer vendors; Internet Service Providers (ISP) and other IT providers.
12. Keep and upgrade a proper inventory data base of all computer related accessories with coordination of the operations unit.
13. Design and implement computer trainings for CRS Kabul/Bamiyan staff beginning, intermediate and advanced.
14. Implement regular site survey and make ICT assessment (using online RISA Toolkit) strategy with coordination of the CRS Country IT Manager.
15. Make regular site visits to Bamiyan office to make sure that the network is maintained, system are running smoothly for business communication, resolve any other technical issues with IT Manager.
16. Staff in Kabul and Bamiyan offices is well oriented with agency Intranet “CRS Global/CRS Learns†and SharePoint Portal.
17. Ensure that a logbook of maintenance/parts replacement for all type of troubleshooting is well recorded.
18. Communicate with National IT Manager on regular basis on various IT issues, technical problems, etc.
19. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Desirable Qualifications:
• University degree in Computer Science required or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Certified Microsoft System Engineer (MCSE – Windows 2003).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in related field
• Good command on computer software/hardware troubleshooting
• Willingness to travel to remote field office for extended periods
• Excellent English writing, reading and speaking abilities.
• Ability to work in team
