Job Summary

The incumbent of the position is responsible for maintaining proper flow of the mission’s information technology as well as managing the computer systems by providing different update solutions for hardware and software problems, related to information technology. IT Officer will be responsible for keeping CARE main office with usual trip to CARE all sub offices computers in a good function and manner and upgraded.

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform and provide IT; LAN, Internet, Emails, Hardware and Software solution and services for CARE main office and as well as all sub offices in order for smooth running all needed IT operations:

• Assist with Senior IT Officer to ensure consistent flow of information, regular communication systems and support the technical aspects of the mission’s information technology.
• Maintained and administrating LAN for providing constant office automation support to main office as well as to all sub-offices.
• Responsible for installing all standard software used in CARE Afghanistan mission wise computers for daily office activities.
• Responsible for installing and up to date security software in each and every computers belong to all CARE that use this office IT and computer resources.
• Assisting the IT staff for best maintain and addressing CARE Afghanistan mission wise (main office and sub offices) computer hardware and software troubleshooting problems, and provide appropriate solution.
• Responsible to keep clean and free of dust all IT devices and equipment used in CARE Afghanistan and use of blower and other cleaners are recommended.
• Provide and design LAN facilities and all its proper troubleshooting for CARE main office and sub offices as per need and.
• Provide different solutions to the problems of computer hardware / software, LAN, emails system, Internet and data backup etc.
• Regular trip to CARE field offices for providing with needed IT services and solutions both IT hardware and software troubleshooting and issues.

Responsible for all IT related services on various aspects of IT, Email, LAN, Hardware and Software, basic troubleshooting and provide training for CARE office staff on IT related systems.

• Assist with Senior IT officer to provide computer software and hardware coaching/training to the staff in main office as well as sub-offices.
• Assist with Senior IT officer and other IT staff to make back up of the periodically, and providing specification of the IT related equipments whenever needed Assist procurement section in providing the right spaces for purchase of IT equipments.
• Provide computer software and hardware, internet, email troubleshooting, LAN coaching / training to the staff in main office as well as in sub offices.
• To carry out all this section administrative work and any other identical task assigned by the respective supervisor.
• Assisting Senior IT officer and other IT staff for providing update list of Afghanistan based CARE offices computers, printers, and their condition Location meanwhile prepare maintenance report to this section and as well as to reporting party.
• Prepare IT monthly base report of daily activities and submit to Senior IT officer and shared it with this section staff.
• To visit all CARE sub offices for computer hardware/software problems, preferably troubleshooting and providing appropriate services to concern office.
• Prepared a monthly report and updates of maintenance, and all IT activities.
• Regular trip to CARE field offices to provide with needed services on Email, Internet and Network and over all IT related issues and troubleshooting.


Any other identical task assigned by the respective supervisor.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS :( MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)

EDUCATION: High school graduated and diploma in IT or equivalent to the similar trade in computer sciences.

WORK EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years experience in relevant post preferably in
International Organization.

SKILLS: Professional Problem diagnostic and troubleshooting ability.
Good knowledge of administration LAN, Internet and Email system.
Ability to identify and solve computer software/hardware related problem.
Ability to install computer and newly introduced packages in computers.
LANGUAGES: Good command of written and spoken Pashto, Dari and
English.

GENERAL: Ability to train other, cooperative, Competent, Willingness and ability to travel inside Afghanistan.
Good human relation skills, sense of humor, courtesy.
