Under the supervision of the Project Director the Innovative Tools Lead Trainer will be responsible for overseeing all programmatic activities on the selection, development/adaption, deployment and application of innovative media technology for this project. S/he will coordinate, supervise and conduct trainings on the use, deployment and uptake of these tools and will oversee the publishing and packaging of toolkits and the development of protocols and user guides for the technology in coordination with the innovation partners. S/he will work closely with innovation partners to coordinate all activities outlined above. The Innovative Tools Lead Trainer will assume overall leadership of this aspect of the project to ensure proper coordination and timely implementation of planned activities.
The objective of the project is to improve provincial human rights monitoring in Afghanistan by (i) enabling Afghan women-focused human rights organizations/institutions to use innovative media technology for monitoring, tracking and advocacy around rights violations including SGBV cases and (ii) to use radio programming and journalism training to create a more conducive environment for the work of these organizations and to inform women about their rights and how to report violations. The activities include: consultation with provincially based women-focused human rights organizations; the development of appropriate, innovative tools; the provision of training and grants to encourage uptake of tools; provision of training and support to track and conduct advocacy around SGBV cases; the evaluation and dissemination of lessons learned; and work with journalists to report more effectively on women’s rights.

Coordinate, supervise and conduct training workshops on the selection, deployment and uptake of innovative media technology.
Work closely with international and local innovation partners to select and adapt appropriate tools for local use.
Coordinate with innovation partners to prepare training plan, module and materials/manuals.
Coordinate with innovation partners to package toolkits.
Work closely with MMCs, women’s organizations and other implementing partners to ensure proper coordination and implementation of training workshops.
Provide assistance and support to the project and to short term consultants as needed.
Undertake any other related tasks assigned

3+ years technical and media experience and relevant education
Knowledge and use of innovative media technology
Previous experience as a trainer specifically on the use of innovative media technology
Ability to travel and stay in province
Fluency in Dari and/or Pashtu and English.
