The Internal Control Assistant will assist the Internal Control Officer and would be responsible for verifying the correctness, compliance and reliability of the NABDP disbursement process, reliability of internal and external financial reporting and ensuring compliance with the laid down guidelines, systems and procedures.
Internal control assistant will assist the Internal Control Officer and perform the following duties:
ï‚§ Enter the data in internal control database on regular basis;
ï‚§ Determine the accuracy, correctness and validity of all financial transactions;
ï‚§ Registry of Sub Projects Payments upon receiving and then delivery to the concerned department after processing;
ï‚§ Ensure high level of compliance with NABDP guidelines, policies and procedures;
ï‚§ Updating files of Internal Control Unit on regular basis;
ï‚§ Review specific processes such as cash collection, payroll, procurement etc;
ï‚§ Identify inefficient practices and procedures and formulate recommendations to management for improvements;
ï‚§ Survey of markets for competitive price and verification;
ï‚§ Follow up Internal Control related issues with other units within the organization;
ï‚§ Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications/Skills/experience
ï‚§ High School graduate;
ï‚§ At least 2 years experience in auditing and internal control related tasks in both the government ministries and international development setting;
ï‚§ Extensive knowledge and experience on applying the Afghan Law on Procurement and Government financial procedures;
ï‚§ Knowledge and experience in accounting and financial management;
ï‚§ Computer skills, including extensive experience using accounting soft wares, Microsoft Word and Excel. Internet and e-mail skills required.

The internal control assistant will report to the internal control officer.
