The Internship Program for Afghan Women in Engineering and Architecture provides opportunities for female students enrolled in engineering, architecture, and related fields of study at universities in Afghanistan. Each year, students in their last year at the University are invited to apply and interview for one of 16 spots in the internship program. The interns will participate in field visits, practical assignments and activities as well as professional skill development opportunities and seminars. The interns will also learn software applications that are directly related to their academic field.
Collect raw data, write memo reports and apply basic theories and engineering fundamentals to learn how to critically analyze problems and find solutions;
Assist with the layout and design of active/practical projects;
Participate in site visits and report preparation;
Perform tasks for on-going projects to increase capacity and technical knowledge;
Learn best practices engineering working methodology, applying international codes and software knowledge.
Applicants should be female students entering their fourth and fifth year of higher education and be enrolled in an architecture/ engineering program at a qualified university in Afghanistan. The applicant must maintain good academic standing and possess strong strategic, analytical, and creative thinking skills. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate leadership and be able to take initiative.
Applicants should have superior written and oral communication skills in English and Dari/ Pashto, as well as a basic knowledge of standard engineering best practices, processes and procedures.
Interns in the Architecture, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and other related engineering fields/disciplines from the Engineering Faculty of Kabul University and the Kabul Polytechnic University.
