Interpreters/Translators are required to provide effective and concise translation both in verbal and written forms in support of the U.S Army and Coalition Forces Advisors to train the Afghan National Army personnel and enhance their core competencies and capabilities by providing advisory and training support. Interpreters/Translators will be required to work under the U.S. Army umbrella to support the U.S. mission. Parks Global Solution (PGS) will not provide any accommodation neither pay for the accommodation so Interpreters/Translators are required to find an accommodation or location themselves within Kandahar to live and get the job done. Local Interpreters/Translators from Kandahar province will be given preference.
1. Professional translation/interpretation of military documents, briefings, reports, classes, etc from English to Dari and Pashto and vice versa both in verbal and written forms.
2. Provide verbal translation between U.S. Army and Afghan National Army officials.
3. Provide verbal translation in official seminars, meetings and conferences.
4. Setting up appointments and visits with Afghan National Army officials.
5. Provide written translation of the documents by using the Ms. Office Programs to support the mission requirements.
6. Provide daily and weekly reports of the assigned tasks using Ms. Word and PowerPoint presentations to ensure effectiveness and visibility.
7. Provide professional verbal translation during the conduct of military training classes to the Afghan National Army personnel.
Education/ Training:
High School education or University graduate preferably in English language and literature, Journalism, or related field
Understanding of international NGO standards and procedures
Certificates of English Language courses.
1. Should have at least 2-3 years of “Verbal and Written Translation” experience with the U.S. Army or reputable organizations.
2. Working experience with International Organizations and/or NGO.
3. General experience of office and administration procedures.
4. Excellent written and spoken English and Farsi/Dari and/or Pashto and vice versa.
5. Excellent computers skills, particularly with Ms. Office Programs.
6. Ability to work well with others, individually and in groups.
7. Good communication skills, be able to detect meanings that are hidden in tone, body languages and etc.
8. Strong communication and cross-cultural skills.
