The Inventory Officer shall manage and be responsible for maintaining proper and accurate inventory for DAI’s LGCD project in Afghanistan.
Land Transport, Storage and Handling:
•Record GDR’s in to Inventory Excel data base.
•Report to the Logistics and Asset Manager, lost, damaged, destroyed and untraceable assets.
•Ensure that all incoming and outgoing supplies are undertaken up to DAI-LGCD standards and policies and USAID regulations.
•Ensure that warehousing where and when needed is done according to DAI-LGCD standards and policies.
•Maintain a file for all pro-forma invoices received under item group filing system (vehicles, Communication, IT, office supplies, office equipment, etc.).
•Assist the receiving and inspection process of goods and planning of storage and warehousing accordingly.
•Ensure all assets are labeled and entered properly in to DAI Inventory system.
•Guide and participate in physical Inventories and verifications. The Procurement Manager shall evaluate and manage the equipment and supplies requirements of each project site.
•Supervise maintenance of stock movement records in the storerooms. This includes orders due, quantity delivered, balances due, and quantity dispatched.
•Travel to provincial office for physical inventory work, and verification of inventory.
•Collect inventory data from regional and provincial offices.
•Train regional staff on inventory management, labeling and recording.
•Assist regional offices in meeting deadlines for monthly inventory reports.
•Assist in ensuring that all supporting documents are obtained and kept in order for auditing purposes.
•Perform other related duties as required.
•A university Degree (Preferred) with 2 years relevant experience in an NGO, UN or any USAID project.
•Good command of English. Fluency in Dari and Pashtu both verbally and written.
•Strong organizational and negotiating skills.
•Computing skills (Ms Office: word and excel, internet) are essential; database skills ACCESS/SQL an advantage.
•Team player, capacity builder, flexible in working hours.
•Self starter, initiative and able to perform with little or no supervision.
•Knowledge of Afghanistan, especially the East, South and Southeastern regions where DAI/LGCD is working.
