Job Summary:


The Islamic Finance Manager execute and maintains financial and accounting services and provides technical support to the CIBO in order to fulfill the financial, regulatory and administrative requirements of the finance department 


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
  • Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take
  • Maintain the financial health of the Islamic Banking Window.
  • Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
  • Develop trends and projections for the firm’s finances.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
  • Manage the preparation of the IBW’s budget.
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of IBW finances is maintained.
  • Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken.
  • Provide DAB’s (Da Afghanistan Bank’s) required financial/other reports.
  • Participating in ALCO (Asset Liability Committee) of the bank
  • Close corporation in Islamic Banking’s treasury operations
  • Day to day Islamic GL reconciliations
  • Preparing separate financial report for the management of the bank
  • Other tasks when required by the management
  • Assist in conducting various committee meetings, including preparation of agenda, presentations and minutes.

Job Requirement:

  1. BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  2. 5+years of Experience in finance or accounting field
  3. Proven experience as an Islamic Financial Manager
  4. Experience in the financial sector with previous possible roles such as financial analyst
  5. Extensive understanding of Islamic financial trends both within the bank and general market patterns
  6. Proficient user of finance software (Flex cube / OBIE)
  7. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  8. Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
  9. A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
  10. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations (Islamic Banking Accounting Standards)
  11. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Afghan local language as well as computer literacy
