The IT Assistant will support RAIP staff and Sida Personnel in having trouble free IT services
Purpose and Scope of Assignment

A major objective of the project’s effort is to improve access to services and markets for rural people to help improve their social and economic situation thus reducing poverty. It is also perceived that as accessibility improves other services can also flow in easily.
The IT Assistant will support RAIP staff and Sida Personnel in having trouble free IT services. The specific responsibilities include:
• Provide end user IT support to Project personel and to RAIP (SIDA) personnel located at PRT compound Mazar.
• Maintain internet connectivity band width as was agreed with the service provider.
• Install licensed software application provide by IT section Kabul.
• Assist in maintenance and upkeep of virus protection software of all net work servers.
• Maintain problems tracking database, classify the problems by categories (hardware and software).Prioritize problems by low, medium, and high. Evaluate the problems and give suggested slution.
• Recommend net work enhancements and up grades, indicate any relevant modifications required.
• Assist in maintainence and provide operation support for system applications, analyze and implement system changes and up grades.
• Keep track of IT equipment assigned to the personnel.
• Other duties as may be required by the Project.
3. Monitoring and Progress Controls
The Project Manager and, ultimately the AGOC IT Analyst, will provide oversight at following stages.
• Setup of LAN;
• Selection and installation of soft wares;
• Antivirus solutions;
• Selection oh computer hard wares;
• Maintenance of hard and soft wares;
• Promptness of the service;
• Monitoring of users;
• Database building of problems and solutions applied;
• Etc.
4. Final Product
(Define the final product, i.e. survey completed, monitoring system set up, workshop conducted, etc.)
The IT Assistant shall provide the following:
• Trouble free internet services; and
• Hard ware and soft ware solutions to all RAIP staff and Sida Personnel.
Qualifications and Experience
(List the required education, work experience, expertise and competencies of the individual contractor. The listed education and experience should correspond with the level at which the contract is offered.)
a. Education (Level and area of required and/or preferred education)
• Secondary Diploma required. IT certificates and/or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or similar highly desirable. .
b. Work Experience
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in providing IT solutions.
c. Key Competencies
(Technical knowledge, managerial competencies or other personal competencies relevant to the performance of the assignment)
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
• Skills and resourceful in dealing with different caliber of people and complex issues.
• A strong sense of commitment, and a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline driven environment.
• Ability to work install and operate multiple computer soft wares.
• Technological Awareness
• Ability to work with accuracy under pressure and with minimum supervision.
