Save the Children, Multi Location
To maintain overall Information Technology set-up of Save the Children in Afghanistan programs by keeping all the computers, printers, scanners, UPS, Stabilizers, networking and the internet system is in a good working condition.
The IT officer will perform the following tasks under the supervision of IT coordinator:
• Ensures that the Computers are installed with genuine software
• Manages Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack For Software Assurance.
• Manages Microsoft Windows Driver Kit.
• Manages and Maintains Wireless Network.
• Manages all IT related issues and provides support to IT officers across the Country and Provincial offices.
• Troubleshoots networking and software problems.
• Ensures that computers are installed with licensed anti-virus software (periodically updating of virus scanning programs).
• Maintains the computer hardware Inventory.
• Maintains the computer/printers/scanner etc manuals, installation DVD/CD libraries
• Assists staff in using the Microsoft Office and provides training using Microsoft Office
• Assists staff in re-structuring of computer directories and guide them on making standard filing system.
• Provides support to Save the Children Afghanistan cooperation partners in Windows, MS office and accounting packages.
• Updates the inventory of computers, printers, scanners, UPS, stabilizers etc.
• Assist in the maintenance of the Agresso (Accounting software SCS).
• Cooperate with all staff in a friendly manner so as to encourage team spirit.
• Carries out other necessary tasks as assigned by the IT Manager.
General responsibility may include:
• Ensure that you work to the best of your ability and demonstrate high levels of commitment to SC Afghanistan in order to ensure the objectives of your role and the country programme are met.
• Ensure the effective and efficient use of all SC Afghanistan resources in order to keep costs low and ensure safety in the workplace
• Comply with the requirements of Save the Children’s Child Safeguarding Policy to ensure maximum protection for children
ï‚§ Other duties as directed by IT Manager based on your skills, experience and seniority associated with this job.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in a relevant position with international NGOs or UN
• Should be able to solve IT problems in office
• Fluency in Dari, Pashto and English. Ability to speak and write in English
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to work under the pressure and be sufficiently flexible in working hours
• Installation / Maintenance experience
• Accuracy, attention to detail, commitment to transparency
• Ability to learn quickly, strong self-training
• Proficient knowledge / qualification in software package
