Job Summary

At this level job holder are expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen problems on a daily basis, the purpose of this job is to develop, maintain, test and implement IT solutions in line with business requirement.

Duties & Responsibilities

To develop database and provide end-users technical support after delivery of the IT Solutions in line with business requirement.

- Write program code in order to support the development and implementation of efficient and effective IT solution components.
- Keep up-to-date technical systems documentation for developed IT solutions in order to support systems maintenance.
- Perform unit and integrated testing of new, enhanced or fixed code in order to ensure completeness and adherence to technical specifications.
- Assist in the installation, configuration and customization of IT systems ensuring compliance with WFP’s IT standards, guidelines and procedures.
- Assist in the release of IT systems and provide early life support in order to prepare for and enable proper use of the IT solution.
- Resolve users queries independently, escalating if required, to ensure that standard IT questions are answered and accurate information is provided.
- Design and develop database architecture, modifying databases and products according to client needs.
- Collect and collate data, conduct basic analysis to support the development of accurate reports including data visualization.
- Contribute to the analysis of outcome data and recommend improvements to programme interventions and to enhance WFPs ability to demonstrate outcome focussed results.

SPECIFIC TERMS OF REFERENCE:

- Ensure the WFP Afghanistan all database System backups and data security through collection and analysis of accurate reports on IT activities, investments and manage WFP online filing and directory system for IT including (Glass, Teamwork, ITS, Box in accordance with WFP corporate standard.
- Effectively manage WFP LAN, WAN & servicedesk ticketing system on daily based and providing on time support to end users and services with managing more than 500 user’s domain accounts with integration of other services in WFP IT System.
- Develop and deploy a variety of documentation including, but not limited to APP, DRP, SOPs, MoUs, NFRs, System manuals, Monthly sheet and directives) and equipment for use by WFP staff to ensure staff have access to the required IT services and products.
- Manage and coordinate a team of ICT support staff including the capacity building and performance appraisal (PACE/PAR) of staff, to ensure individual and team objectives are met in compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
- Contribute to installation, configuration and customization of IT systems, as well as integration and immigration of data between systems ensuring compliance with WFP IT standards, guidelines and procedures.

Job Requirements

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area.

Knowledge and Skills:

- Advance knowledge of Python with Django/Flask or Pyramid framework.
- Advance knowledge of PHP with Zend Framework
- Advance knowledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Able to work with Drupal CMS (Content Management System).
- Good knowledge of data analysis and Tableau/Microsoft Power B Application for data visualization.
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skill, especially in representing their technical expertise to a diverse audience.
- Advance understanding of MySQL configuration, replication, backup and recovery.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures for managing and maintaining the database.
- Create, configure and maintain for both operating system and MySQL authentication mode and assigning appropriate permission and password policies.
- Language: Fluency in oral and written English, plus Pashto and/or Dari is essential
