Job Development and Placement Officer is responsible for developing job-seekers profile, consulting them, finding jobs for job-seekers and placing them into new positions. They are also responsible for establishing tight relationship with private sector companies to recruit their employees as ICT trainees.
Contacting private sector companies, NGOs, and other organizations for recruiting their employees as ICT trainee.
Signing MOUs with the parties for recruiting their employees as trainees.
Signing employee salary increment form with the companies’ directors.
Maintaining relationship with different parties in order to find jobs in those organizations and place job-seekers into new positions.
Conduct regular meetings with private sector companies and other organizations in order to evaluate their work, find their employees skills gap and recruit their employees as trainees.
Assist job-seekers in writing their resumes, finding jobs and placing them into jobs.
Assist trainees (Companies’ employees) to get their salary rise by at least 3%.
Identify barriers to employment and assist job-seekers with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés and preparing for job interviews.
Provide established workers with information on maintaining a job or moving within an organization, dealing with job dissatisfaction or making a mid-career change.
Identify current and prospective staffing requirements for local businesses and organizations.
Advise job applicants on employment requirements and on terms and conditions of employment.
Review candidate inventories and contact potential applicants to arrange interviews and arrange transfers, redeployment and placement of personnel.
Co-ordinate and participate in selection and examination boards to evaluate candidates
Notify applicants of results of selection process and prepare job offers.
Supervise personnel clerks performing filing and record-keeping duties.
Physical Demands
The job placement officer will have to spend long hours in the market meeting different private sector companies and other organizations to recruit their employees and to place graduated job-seekers into new positions.
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, public relations, or other related fields.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience is required in marketing or public relations.
Experience with job placement field is preferable.
Ability to provide career counseling and training and development services.
Ability to analyze community employment opportunities.
Effective negotiation and mediation skills.
Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
Ability to work independently, to be self-motivated/ organized and quick learner.
