JSSP Management Section - Senior Translator

Duties & Responsibilities

The Legal Translator Section Leader shall:

Supervise translators and senior translators to ensure proper duty performance.

Provide professional capacity building trainings for translators.

Review translators’ works and provide feedback to translators and senior translators.

Develop JSSP translators’ work report on a monthly basis.

Ensure compliance with SOP for Translation.

Ensure Translator Log Book update.

Proofread translations and typed documents.

Provide test papers for testing candidates of translator positions.

Mark answer sheets, interview and select translators.

Provide language proficiency tests for applicants of NLA and admin positions.

Expertly translate documents from English into Pashto/Dari and vice-versa

Expertly interpret in meetings.

Simultaneous translation for International Advisors

Hold regular meetings with translators and senior translators to discuss problems/suggestions/changes.

Perform any other duties assigned by COT or D-COT.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in any related field.

At least two years of work experience in a senior position.

Dedicated, hardworking and willing to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
