The Junior DB2 DBA will work under the direct supervision of MAKS Consulting Services. S/he will work in data center and manage multiple DB servers and their functionalities.
Well versed about DB architecture
Work in a Data Center and manage multiple DB servers
Creation and maintenance of database objects (tables, columns, indexes, etc)
Setup and support databas utilities including BACKUP, RESTORE, REORG, RUNSTATS, EXPORT, LOAD, EXPLAIN and Data replication
Ability to write moderately complex shell scripts (using ksh, perl, php, etc) for database maintenance automation and testing
Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.
Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications.
Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
Open to relocate in any part of Afghanistan
Bachelor in Science (Computers)
MS will be preferred
Strong RDBMS knowledge
Strong DBA skills
Good database administration experience using DB2 UDB LUW Version 9.7, 10.1 or 10.5 on Linux (or other Unix variant) strongly preferred; recent hands-on experience using DB2 z/OS, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL and/or hadoop helpful
Performance tuning experience using DB2 UDB LUW internals, database snapshots and SQL cache an+A33alysis
