Job Summary

Purpose of Position:
To Plan, organize. implement and monitor procurement process. commodity transport., and warehousing. To monitor the receipt of reports/documentation on the status and disposition of commodities from point of origin to end use, security, and other logistics.

Duties & Responsibilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Follow the WV procurement procedures. policies and purchase food and non food on time.
• Procure all requested purchases in a timely manner. by working closely with purchasing committee and Zone Program Manager.
• Organize to obtain necessary price quotations for local procurements. with coordination with purchasing
committee.
• Assist purchasing committee to provide more and clear information about quotations, quality of items.
• To review the market regularly for changing prices. improved quality and quantities of goods available.
• Ensure appropriate documentation and reports on procurement are obtained.
• Prepare purchase requisitions and ensure finance review and appropriate approvals have been obtained.
• Ensure that all purchase requisitions are numbered and logged and the copies 01 the requisitions are on file.
• To assist the Commodities Officer in clearing. forwarding and warehousing of food and non-food commodities.
• Receive locally purchased goods. verifying receipt and follow upon backordered items.
• In coordination with the Inventory Control Department ensure the delivery of purchased supplies/equipment to project sites ensuring that packing lists/waybills are complete.
• Represent World Vision to local and regional government officials. shipping, trucking and airlift companies, and partner representatives in a positive and professional manner.
• Plus any other duties that might be assigned by the supervisor to you.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
The following knowledge. skills. and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self¬education, prior experience. or on-the-job training.
• Preferably have a minimum of two years experience in a logistics role.
• Able to work in transparency, keep high accountability in handling resources.
• Must have experience in procurement processes.
• Knowledge of WV procurement's guidelines and policies would be highly regarded.
• Must have demonstrated strong planning. organisational and negotiation skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
• Computer skills, good knowledge in Word. Excel and Lotus Notes.
• Proven ability in working with vendors and local governmental authorities.
Able to travel extensively.
