Job Summary

Main Purpose

Ensure the support and response of field inquiries and demands (1st line response) for the entire mission. Assist and support in the implementation of energy & cold chain-related activities; technical aspects, drawings, design, project costing, and close supervision of the works for the entire mission.


Duties & Responsibilities

-         Provide day-to-day support to all projects for all energy & cold chain-related matters.

-         Assist in the production of electrical & cold chain-related specifications (including engineering drawings, work and technical specifications bill of quantities, terms of reference, tender documents and contract forms, etc.) for the entire mission.

-         Performs technical assessment and provides recommendations, advice, and support to the project teams.

-         Assist in the quality control for all electrical and cold chain installations/ works and material.

-         Support in the management & follow-up of the timeline of activities for all projects.

-         Assist in the development and implementation of MSF Safety Protocols for Energy & Cold Chain installations.

-         Ensure the projects’ support through field visits and gap-filling when applicable/required.

-         Ensure compliance to the Mission policies, procedures, protocols in all Electrical & Cold Chain installations.

-         Participate in the development of maintenance strategies and all energy, cold chain related policies; monitor and follow up the implementation in the projects.

-               Developing a protocol seeking extensive feedback and pilot tests to ensure its functioning as well as defining functioning standards and monitoring systems.

-         Support in the development of the Energy and Cold Chain budget.

-         Participate in the development and implementation of training activities for the electrician/energy technicians.

-         Act as advisor for the Coordination Contingency/Buffer and EPREP stock definition based on the mission requirements, turnover of equipment/parts, etc. through field visits observation. 

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements and Competencies

Education

-         University degree in Electrical engineering essential

-         Proficient user of AutoCAD or Visio drawing program essential

-         Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) essential

Experience

-         Experience in a similar position essential

-         MSF experience desirable

-         Generator synchronization system knowledge is an asset

Languages

-         Dari/Pashtu: oral and written essential

-         English: oral and written essential

Working hours and Salary

Full Time / Schedule: 176 hours per month - due to the nature of the position the candidate must be willing and capable of sometimes work outside regular office hours

Salary will be paid according to the MSF salary grid
