Job Summary

Ensure the Good fonctioning of the Heating, Ventilations and Air Conditioning (HVAC) installation for the ongoing construction of the Kandahar DRTB Hospital. support in the successful installation of HVAC machinery, equip-ment, ducting and other related activities, through close supervision of work with a focus on quality control; ac-cording to MSF protocols, reporting to the project Technical Project Logistics.

Perform the servicing/repairing, maintenance/repair follow up, installation works for all powered machines and HVAC equipment and related activities according to MSF protocols.


Duties & Responsibilities

-         Provide the day-to-day support to all projects in the HVAC and its related matters, in accordance with the Mission policies and standards as defined by the Logistics Manager In the project

-         Assist in the production of HVAC drawings including Mechanical, engineering, and work specifications for the KDH project according to MSF standards as defined by the Mission HVAC Specialist.

-         Performs technical assessment and provides support to the project teams in the HVAC field.

-         Perform maintenance activities of all motorized machinery (Evaporative water Cooler water pumps, Boilers, generators, ACs, Exhaust/ Supply Fan etc.), as well as other mechanical installations

-         Operate daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance and management diagnostic checklists Including cleaning Dust Filters, Filter Water evaporative cooler, Dampers, Main Ducting for HVAC infrastructure/systems.

-         Support in the development of the HVAC system in the project 

-         Ensure the use of quality HVAC material for the Project as they are defined by the Mission HVAC Specialist;

-         Support in the market assessment strategies and evaluation of local suppliers for the quality and services levels.

-         Assist with urgent support/ advice and carry out critical HVAC tasks and corrective maintenance interventions.

-         Perform annual maintenance procedures and safety checks across facilities related heating system cooling system and domestic hot water in the project

-         Carry out and update the HVAC installations and equipment inventory in MSF and MSF supported facilities

-         Elaborate the necessary documentation for carrying out HVAC installations projects (plans, list of materials, etc.).

-         Ensure the technical service of all HVAC installations and equipment (technical teams, maintenance and reparation procedures, tooling and accessories, workshop, technical stock)

-         Assist in all necessary repairs, maintenance and new installations in his field of expertise for all HVAC and Cold chain installations (HVAC) installations, Air conditioning units, air coolers, grounding, refrigerators maintenance etc.)

-         Perform any needed tests after any repair/maintenance or new installations in order to ensure the functionality and safety of the installations

-         Give regular feedback to the line manager and report directly any issue or incident

-         Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.

-         Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty service

-         Ensure the completion of the HVAC system Checks, boilers Protection, plumbers Checks MSF structures

-         Perform and/or supervise work (installation and maintenance) on HVAC systems in the project with the Logistics Supervisor

-         Compare prices and quality of equipment and oversee/recommend on purchases of HVAC equipment

-         Work in collaboration with other specialized technicians and workers, if necessary

-         Ensure the adequate stocks of consumables and materials for minor repairs and manage those stocks in coordination with his supervisor; ensure the replenishment of the HVAC material and consumable stock on a monthly basis

-         Ensure the filling of the stock cards of spare parts and the physical stock inventory on a regular basis

-         Ensure the completion of all record sheets and books related to HVAC installations maintenance

-         Ensure the completion of the necessary reports before and after any repair or required maintenance

-         Ensure the briefing and training of MSF staff regarding the correct use and basic maintenance of all types of HVAC installations Systems

-         Follow up the repair of all occurring HVAC material problems in the project with the Logistics Manager and accordance to the mission protocols and guidelines

-         Report on any problems linked to HVAC System of MSF premises

-         Give regular feedback to the line manager and report directly any issue or incident

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

           Education

-          High school diploma (12th class) essential

-          University degree desirable

-          Technical diploma essential

-          Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) essential

Experience

-          Other experience in similar position essential

-          MSF experience desirable

Languages

-          Dari/Pashtu: oral and written essential

-          English: oral and written essential

Working hours

Full Time / Schedule: 176 hours per month - due to the nature of the position the candidate must be willing and capable to sometimes work outside regular office hours

Salary will be paid according to the MSF salary grid
