Job Summary

Internews Network is seeking a M&E Manager candidate for the USAID funded RASANA project, a media support initiative in Afghanistan, which has the goal of further strengthening the media sector, particularly through training women journalists and building investigative journalism skills. The M&E Manager will report to the Communications and Outreach Lead and will provide support on all aspects of activity implementation for the program, as well as manage the monitoring and evaluation functions and report writing. This entails monitoring progress of project activities and intended outcomes. The Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Manager has overall responsibility for supporting all processes and systems to ensure full M&E compliance on the part of Internews and its sub-grantees.

Duties & Responsibilities


Provide leadership, oversight and tracking of primary M&E processes and over see the work of the M&E team

Track all M&E projects and ensure timely completion of standard and periodic data report.

Maintain and operate the M&E database, including data entry and data interface with partners.

Maintain data collection and tracking systems.

Support data gathering and processing throughout the project, by Internews and sub grantees.

Maintain contacts with partners to ensure timely and regular flow of information and data.

Ensure the preparation of weekly/bi-weekly and quarterly reports.

Review & implement a result based M&E system for INTERNEWS & its funded projects.

Coordinate & collaborate with the Internews internal departments & external stakeholders.

Ensure that evaluation reports meet the quality standards, expectations & objectives of Internews.

Follow-up with the project stakeholders on project work plans, actions plans and M&E recommendations.

Contribute to development and implementation of the M&E Unit Annual plans for Monitoring, Evaluation and Research activities.

Perform any other relevant task assigned by the CoP and DCoP.

Job Requirements

5+ years programmatic experience

University degree or diploma

Good English writing and communication skills

Fluency in Dari (Pashto and advantage)

Computer and internet literacy

Previous work experience with USIAD/USG programs and projects preferred.

Experience with gender and media development projects a significant asset.

Understand and demonstrate commitment to upholding Internews’ Core
