The Marketing Manager is responsible for ensuring that the program is properly connected. He/she is also responsible for coordinating all FINCA Afghanistan marketing activities, and maintaining a positive relationship with all external stakeholders. The Marketing Manager should also be able to understand the operations side of business to come up with effective marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.
Marketing Responsibilities
 Develop a marketing plan and Strategy. Communicate its contents to management and branches.
 Develop annual marketing events plan and budget. Take into consideration distributing the events among all branches.
 Allocate the annual marketing budget on the marketing materials and annual marketing events.
 Communicate the marketing events to internal and external parties. Respond to enquiries about events.
 Oversee the work of the designer and assist with layout development, design and print of all marketing materials. Select and edit the informational and illustrative materials for publication.
 Coordinate the orders of marketing materials and manage its inventory. Ensure their availability when needed.
 Ensure that all marketing materials are in a consistent style and theme and have the right logo and information.
 Attend fairs and other marketing events when requested.
 Identify and develop mutual business relationships with vendors, suppliers and business association / unions.
Stakeholder Relationships and Information Source
 Provide Country Director and Head Office with support related to public affairs, outside stakeholders, government ministries and marketing activities.
 Ensure that the program is properly connected, networked and professionally visible to outsider stakeholders and governmental departments so that any microfinance related conferences, trainings, meetings, and events that the head office staff is aware of, invited to and properly informed about.
 Develop key potential corporate, social, and government partnerships.
 Research and develop potential CSR (Corporate Social Responsibilities) opportunities that connect with our mission.
 Develop and maintain a database with potential corporate partners.
 Develop a clear and concise proposal for marketing events sponsorships.
 Maintain the program profile and update on continuous basis.
 Evaluate the performance and effectiveness of marketing approaches in terms of attractiveness for clients. Suggest improvements and evaluate how FINCA Afghanistan marketing approaches are different from the other competitors’ approaches.
 Prepare, translate and distribute updated program profile, press releases, news, events and newsletters to external stakeholders and/or other important relationships (i.e. donors, government ministries, microfinance industry governing institutions etc.)
 Maintain a positive relationship with all external stakeholders and government ministries and establish yourself as a primary point of contact for the FINCA Afghanistan Head Office for donors, government ministries, and outside stakeholders. Seek areas for new cooperation or potential funding among donors and the NGO community.
 Research appropriate and relevant articles and best practices from CGAP, the Microfinance Gateway, and other sources and distribute and maintain a library of the information gathered. Utilize the internet, local media and other outside sources to keep abreast of key microfinance issues in the Afghanistan and Middle East Microfinance Sector and conduct microfinance sector research and prepare analysis as needed.
 Ensure that all Head Office external documentation, reports or presentations have standardized and consistent with FINCA Afghanistan brand identity, logo, design, and formats.
 Analyze market needs and demands on an ongoing basis. Assist Branch Managers with market research tools (formats, data collection) when expanding to new regions.
 Keep an updated and documented analysis of what the local competitors are offering in the marketplace and distribute it to Head Office and Branch Management.
 Conduct any other task, responsibility, or activity that could be asked from the direct supervisor, the management, the Country Director, or FINCA International
- B.A. degree in marketing or a related field
- Experience in marketing field is a must.
- Excellent command of English, Pashto and Dari.
- Outstanding proven time management and organizational skills.
- Keen attention to detail with ability to track multiple projects at one time.
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- General computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Excellent writing/communication skills.
