Save the Children, Multi Location
The Children of Uruzgan (CoU) project involves several educational activities: Community Based Education (CBE), Early Childhood Education (ECD), Mother’s Literacy Classes, Teacher and Principal trainings, and beginner teacher trainings. Save the Children needs a Master Trainer to train trainers in various educational programs.
Key Accountabilities
Save the Children will provide technical support in planning, implementing, and monitoring this work, particularly for inputs into the formal schools and promoting better community interaction in schools. The MoE(PED) will be actively encouraged to participate in all aspects of the CoU.
Roles and Responsibilities.
1. Training the Master Trainers/Trainers/Supervisors and other project related staff of SVF/SC in
(a) Planning and Scheduling for trainings
(b) Organizing a training workshop(logistics, finances, venue, refreshment etc)
(c) Preparing/designing the training materials and its use
(d) Pre and post evaluation of the trainees for each training and reporting the synthesis of this exercise to the provincial program Manager and QPEP project Manager.
(e) Preparing model lessons, model lesson plans and their hand out outs.
2. Training the targeted trainees in methodology and other training packages specified for the project.
3. Be available in the partner trainings session to ensure partners trainers are supported, training is relevant, needs based and well organized, good training methods implemented and trainees are satisfied.
4. Building capacity of PED and partner in contents/ issues related to training curriculum, and working closely with PED to adapt CoU project in line with MoE educational standards. And coordinating effectively with PED to ensure their participation in all the events of the project being organized by SC and SVF.
5. Collecting data on the trainings and impacts of the training.
6. Filing the records of SC trainings and writing reports on the activities he conducts.
7. Preparing/compiling individual training manuals for each training package mentioned below.
8. Learning about new trainings areas and trainings contents needed for the CBE, ECD, Mother’s Literacy and suggesting these innovations to the national teams to incorporate into the project trainings list.
9. Tracking and supporting the partner team on all the scheduling of all the trainings for CBE and teacher mentors.
10. Support the provincial education team and CoU project Manager in any technical issues where they need.
11. Regularly visits the CBE and ECD classes whether the trainings contents are being implemented in the school/class/community environment to gauge the impact of the training delivered..
12. Perform any other project activity assigned by the provincial program Manager
The training packages targeted for delivery in the project are as follow.
1) Methodology (teaching methods) training for mentors and formal school teachers.
2) Positive Discipline Techniques
3) Child Rights Convention(CRC) and Child Rights
4) Child Focused Health Education (CFHE)
5) Teaching materials/Low cost no cost teaching material
6) CEC/PTA responsibilities/Monitoring of ALCs
Essential features:
Has graduated from 14th grade
Know local language Pashto
Having experience in the area of trainings
Having good coordination/liaison skills
Have an experience of working with provincial administration especially in primary education area for one year
Computer literacy
Desirable features:
English language
Prior experience of working with Schools and community.
Have an understanding of local culture.
