Job Summary

Responsible for supervising all MCH activities under IMCH and CP project including outreach preparatory midwife and vaccinator teams, support and supervision for Father/Mather leaders (F/M Leaders)

Duties & Responsibilities


Outreach Vaccinator and Midwife teams
• Ensure supply chain and cold chain is being maintained for outreach teams by vaccinator
• Providing action plan for FHH and outreach according of guidance and support vaccinator for keeping vaccines
• Providing support to vaccinator and trainee midwife for conducting health education session such as EPI, Nutrition, Diarrhea and respiratory diseases
• Supervision and support of Vaccinator and Trainee Midwife outreach teams, in routine EPI, PD-Hearth, and Home Basic Life Safe Skills (HBLiSS) antenatal and postnatal care, ensuring provision of high quality clinical care.
• Ensure follow up of patients dropped out of clinic and those identified children in target of malnutrition.
• In conjunction with vaccinators and trainee midwives preparation of plans for outreach activities.
• Ensure coverage areas of vaccination program already achieved according to the plan.
• Collecting and analyzing outreach teams report by months


Father and Mather leader’s activities
• Identify Father/Mather leaders
• Ongoing training and support to F/M leaders.
• Together with vaccinators and trainee midwife ensure high quality immunization, PD-Hearth, Home Basic Safe Skills (HBLiSS) and growth screening activities are being provided through Father/Mather leaders.

Feedback
• Provide regular feedback to vaccinator/Trainee midwife on their work
• Each week following supervisory visits Field supervisor is responsible to give feedback through meetings with local stakeholders, (BPHS implementer) EPI ( – key Shura leaders/Warlords
• Provide monthly feedback to Provincial Hospital EPI and TFC on patients followed up in the field
Reporting
• Support Project Manager in conducting project baseline assessment
• Assist in the development and implementation of DM and E system with Project Manager and child protection officer.
• Support Project Manager in the development of quarterly and semi-annual reports for MCH
• Prepare monthly updates for discussion with WVUK
• Preparation of weekly and monthly field reports and collation of data from all outreach teams field activities.
• Each week written report to Project Manager
• In close collaboration with monitoring and evaluation field officers, ensure implementation of DM and E plan monitoring systems and project indicator tracking is done correctly
• Responsible for collation of all health data in the field.
• In conjunction with Project manager analyse data and provide appropriate responses to problems and feedback to vaccinators and Trainee Midwives.
• Participate in program studies and assessments such as project final evaluation
• Provide support to ongoing MCH and CP Health activities as and when required.

Job Requirements


The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training.

• Graduation in health as Assistant Doctor or experienced midwife/midwife teacher essential
• Experience in MCH programs particularly health, nutrition and health promotion as well as
Knowledge of obstetrics/midwifery, ANC and PNC
• Strong report writing and monitoring skills
• Problem solving skills
• Strong capacity building and facilitation skills.
• Interpersonal and managerial and conflict resolution skills.
• Competent, trustworthy supervisor.
• Communication skills and experience in working with community volunteers.
• Cultural sensitivity, flexible views, emotional maturity and physical stamina.
• Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment
• Commitment to World Vision Core Values and Mission Statement
• Previous working experience with National / International NGO is highly desirable
• Strong skills in oral and written English, Farsi and Pashto
• Willing to work at odd hours when necessary
