Mechanical Engineer (FSN-11) Development Level (FSN 10)
The incumbent will inspect construction; review plans; recommend approval of shop drawings and submittals; maintain a daily log of construction activities; develop change orders including preparing cost estimates and other construction engineering duties related to the construction as directed by the Project Director. The incumbent is expected to be able to independently perform all his/her duties and provide professional engineering services. The incumbent should also be available for occasional travel to other OBO job sites in other provinces or foreign countries as directed by the PD.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent degree is required.
Experience: For (FSN 11) level: Seven years of experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering, related to vertical building construction and renovations is required.
For (FSN 10) level: Six years of experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering, related to vertical building construction and renovations is required.
Language: Level IV (Fluent) speaking/Reading English, Dari and or Pashto is required.
Knowledge: Must have knowledge in design and construction practices with Mechanical codes and specifications, thorough professional knowledge in Mechanical design calculations and criteria, preparation of engineering drawings and specification.
Abilities and Skills: Must be able to use MSOffice package for word processing and analysis; ability to use engineering management software and AutoCAD, maintain daily construction inspection logs; ability to create Mechanical engineering cost estimates, review construction drawings for code compliance and provide briefings to the PD on Mechanical engineering issues.
