AACS Consulting is looking for a detail-orientated Media Monitor to be responsible for monitoring and scanning newspapers, television, radio and other news agencies for the specified purpose of the project. The detailed duties and responsibilities are as below.
• Undertake media monitoring (TV, radio, newspapers and news agencies);
• Assess all relevant media coverage on the specified topics of the project;
• Work independently and part of a team to produce written summaries of current local and regional news stories from the media for the head of the team;
• Provide accurate news alerts and news briefings report;
• Ensure client receive reports and news alerts in a timely and accurate manner;
• Analyze and report on news items that may be of importance to the project’s mission;
• Enter the news summaries into database and maintain the database up-to-date.
• Support supervisor to write an analysis; and
• Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills and Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Political Science or any other related field.
Qualification and Experience:
• Knowledge of policies, procedures, rules and regulations, and/or extensive subject matter
• Ability to monitor and scan news quickly and still retain information
• Organizational and prioritization skills
• Prior international donor experience preferred
• Ability to write and verbally communicate clearly and concisely in English, Pashto and Dari.

• Ability to remain calm in stressful and uncertain situations
• Familiar with office software, such as Microsoft Office, and use of word processors and spreadsheet software
