Government Media and Information Center (GMIC), Multi Location
Media Monitoring Manager is responsible to establish a professional and standard media monitoring system for the Government Media and Information Center and the President’s Office.
To act as the main liaison between GMIC, President’s office and all national and international media agencies and maintain close relations and contacts with them regularly.
To develop the necessary media monitoring procedures and policies ensuring better acknowledgment of the GMIC and president’s office about the current situation.
To control providing media monitoring and processing information gathered from different news sources such as mass media and internet.
To prepare monthly, quarterly and annual media monitoring reports according to various donors’ requirements.
To liaise with the rest of the media production teams within the office as well other media organizations outside about producing regular and special programs.
To manage process of the information collected from various national and international media outlets in key areas of the government policy and programs in appropriate language.
To oversee, coach and guide the junior staff members of the media monitoring department and manage media monitoring staff in their daily job commitments.
To lead the process of the press releases, stories, press kits, media briefings and brochures on regular basis and when required.
To respond quickly to ad hoc media enquiries from the GMIC and President’s Office by gathering information from the concerned agencies.
Perform any other task related to the position.

11. Perform any other task related to the position.
1. University degree in the area of Media Management, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
2. 7 years of progressive work in a media/public information outlet in a management position.
3. Knowledge of media monitoring, information management and crisis management.
4. Background in drafting media advisories, press releases, reports and other media related documents.
5. Ability to establish networks and develop good working relationship among the national and international media agencies.
6. Fluent spoken and written English, Dari and Pashto with ability to write professionally in all three.
