1. Summary of the post
• Ensure best care available for all patients.
• Follows the hygiene standards in IPD.
• Ensure good documentation of the patient clinical findings, vital signs monitoring and treatments.
• Responsible for diligent handling of the monitoring devices and equipments in IPD.
• Willingness to participate in trainings.
• Willingness to participate in education and training of the nurses in IPD.
• Ensure good communications amongst IPD staffs, patients and patient family.
• Flexibility to fulfil the IPD MD position and ER MD position if necessary.
a) Emergency cases management
• Obtain adequate history to formularise the diagnosis and appropriate treatment for the patients.
• Ensure patient comfort and respect patient autonomy.
• Ensure the patient is well prepare prior to transfer to other hospital, ICU or operating room.
• Ensure good documentation of the patient clinical findings, vital signs monitoring and treatments.
• Handover of patient to doctors and nurses at the start of each shifts.
• Ensure good communications amongst doctors, ED staffs, patients and patient family.
• Direct and able to work in team to facilitate good patient care.
• Assist colleagues to manage outpatient cases, participate in the organization of OPD schedule and organization for patients follow up.
• Ensure the medical treatment (internal medicine problem and not surgical follow up) of patient hospitalized.
• Assist colleagues to manage emergency cases when the need arise.
• Provide minimal health information to the patients and family to increase public health awareness and to correctly use the IPD service
e) Hygiene
• Follow the universal precaution of asepsis and hygiene.
• Follow waste segregation rules.
f) Meetings and Training:
• Attend MSF IPD training.
• Attend the IPD staff monthly meeting
• Attend any another training or meeting organized by MSF.

On request perform any other additional duties given by the immediate supervisor in order to allow the organisation to function optimal

Requirements :
- Medical diploma ;
- Experience in a similar position is an added value;
- Experience in an international organisation, NGO is an asset;
- Basic English level oral and written, Good Dari oral and written, Pashtu is an asset;
- Very organized person able to plan his/her work in advance, autonomous and rigorous;
- Motivation to work in an international/inter-cultural context and humanitarian and team spirit.
- Dynamic, flexible, adaptable;
- Sense of responsibility and care;
