Job Summary

The position of Microwave Techician will be responsible for installing and maintaining all aspects of equipment required in a radio station or television station environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Solving technical related problems in broadcast microwave transmission systems (including 2.4gHz to 5.8gHz IP systems).
• E-1/T-1 telco interfaces.
• VOIP integration.
• TCP/IP Multicast data transmission.
• Assist in establishing guidelines for streaming applications, both audio and video.
• Assist and maintain satellite uplink and downlink equipment.
• Video transmission over IP.
• Help with design of countrywide broadcast relay network.
• Troubleshoot and maintain microwave and E-1 networks.
• Training of other staff members when needed.

Job Requirements

• Work well in a team environment.
• Associates degree or related experience.
• Excellent communication skills in Dari and English.
• Possess organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Problem solving skills.
• Ability to use own initiative, common sense and act quickly on issues.
• Ability to document all work done.
• Must possess attention to detail
• Ability to follow tasks through to completion
• Familiar with Microsoft and Linux networks.
• Familiar with the configuration of routers, firewalls, and network switching.
