Job Summary:
Midwife position with INTERSOS Afghanistan
Duties & Responsibilities:
Give health education at the mobile clinic or health facility waiting area on reproductive health issues and information on IYCF for pregnant and lactating women.
Ensure all the equipment’s for a reproductive health services are in place and operational.
Ensure that the pregnant mothers are given all the pre-natal care (ANC) services required.
Ensure all mothers who deliver in the community or Primary Health Care level get post-natal (PNC) and family planning services.
Conduct deliveries at the static clinic and asses the complicated cases and refer them to district hospital for more investigation and proper treatment.
Provide refresher training and supervision to the community midwifes.
Keep proper record of all the activities done and prepare a weekly/monthly report.
Discus all complication with medical doctor and make referral to hospitals as required.
Provide proper Family Planning services to all clients at the clinic level as per MOH protocol and keep records.
Ensure all mothers are screened with malnutrition and identified cases should be given proper counseling and treatment.
Job Requirement:
High Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or Midwifery studies is required.
2+ years of relevant work experience at least.
Pashto and Dari skills are required; English is preferable.
Work experience in Health as emergency response projects is preferable.
Previous experience working for an international NGO is preferable.
Commitment to INTERSOS principles.
Comply with all relevant INTERSOS policies and procedures.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from senior managers in the field.
Ability and willingness to travel and stay overnight at service delivery point.
