Job Summary

The M & E Officer will be responsible for the day to day monitoring and evaluation activities of the project.
The position is located in World Vision Afghanistan Herat Zonal Office with field work location at 9 IDP settlements in Herat.

Duties & Responsibilities

 Assist in preparing timely regular monthly, quarterly, semi-annual mid-year and annual progress reports on all project activities.
 Ensure that project outputs and outcomes are monitored regularly and findings are provided to the management team.
 In collaboration with technical project staff and support from the M&E specialist and project manager develop the M&E guidance that contains project monitoring tools and templates including post-training questionnaires, FGD guides etc.
 Ensure that quantitative and qualitative data is collected and recorded in databases on a monthly basis
 Conduct regular field monitoring visits to project sites and compile field visit reports for monitoring visits and submit to the project manager.
 Support and give guidance to project staff to adjust and improve DIPs if any gaps have been identified based on the monitoring findings.
 With support from the M&E specialist based in Herat, conduct reflection/discussion meetings with relevant project staff on a quarterly basis to analyse implementation progress and trends to help the project management team to take corrective decisions if needed.
 Taking part in conduction of baseline , evaluation and impact evaluation of project.
 Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor in Social Science or economics. (Essential)

Knowledge & Skills:

English - Fluent Written & Spoken (Essential)

Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills, detail orientation, neat spread sheet development, fast and accurate data capturing skills.

Thorough knowledge of MS Office, SPSS, ACCESS, other data packages

Strong abilities in conducting trainings, coaching staff on daily basis.

Experience:

At least 3 years of M & E experience in Health and protection. (Essential)

Developing M & E tools including data bases.

Conducting surveys and monitoring activities in a multi-cultural context.
