Our programs create jobs, enhance value chains, and support businesses to improve the livelihoods of Afghan citizens in a variety of traditional industries and services including carpet production, light manufacturing, food processing, agriculture/agribusiness development, livestock development, and training. We support private businesses, farming communities, and individuals who need to learn job skills and trade production improvement techniques.


Job Summary

The Position involves collecting, entering, reviewing, cleaning, verifying, and reporting MEL data using Kobo Toolbox and other systems, coordinating with MEL team and project staff, conducting field visits and phone calls, participating in program, and learning activities, and conducting other ad hoc tasks as requested. The Position reports to MEL Director and Senior MEL Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

·        Coordinate with MEL team and project staff to complete registration forms for enterprises and individuals, semi-annual surveys, follow up calls, and ad hoc data collection for all activities using a Kobo Toolbox data collection platform and accurately enter data into relevant systems and databases. Collect data in person and remotely as necessary.

·        Provide support with all ongoing MEL data collection processes and ensure the accurate and timely entry of data into database.

·        Review and clean all incoming data, follow up on missing, incorrect or unclear data and track progress using checklist.

·        Participate in program and learning activities when necessary.

·        Conduct field visits as necessary.

·        Verify collected data through phone calls.

·        Ensure that all MEL files are organized and databases up to date.

·        Conduct data quality assurance on all incoming data.

·        Provide regular updates for staff on the MEL process.

·        Prepare reports of MEL activities.

·        Participate in any relevant HQ or regional office meetings, as required.

·        Conduct other ad hoc tasks as requested.

·        Reports to MEL Director and Senior MEL Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent English Language skills (both written and spoken).
  • Dari and Pashto fluency preferred, although basic proficiency is sufficient in one of the two.
  • Computer literate, good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Excel proficiency is a must.
  • Able to pay close attention to detail.
  • Highly organized.
  • Experience collecting and cleaning data
