Job Summary

The task of the Programme Officer is to ensure daily management of specific aspects of the Danish engagement in Afghanistan regarding particularly police-reform in Afghanistan incl. contributions to the Law and Order Trust fund Afghanistan (LOTFA) and the implementation of the District Development Programme. Further the programme officer will be involved in the on-going work with a Security Sector Reform and efforts in the area of Rule of Law.

Duties & Responsibilities

The programme officer will liaise with Afghan ministries and key political actors in Afghanistan with a particular emphasis on the Ministry of Interior and the Independent Directorate of Local Governance. Also, the Programme Officer is also the main point of contact for advisors and consultants.
The Programme Officer oversees the different programmes in the field regarding financial resources, prepares budget and overseeing expenditure reports.
The Programme Officer may also be required to assist with attending meetings, workshops and seminars related to the programme.

Job Requirements

Minimum BA in political science or law or other relevant field or extensive experience with project management
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
Fluency in English (written and oral)
Knowledge of the police and security sector in Afghanistan
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
Ability to work independently and a good team player
