Network Engineer is responsible for the LAN/WLAN plan, documentation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and all hierarchical tasks which are coming through Manager-Network Infrastructures & Security.
Network Engineer is under the direct guidance and supervision of the ICT head to provide daily technical helps to the Network Team Leader regarding the plan, implementation, and maintaining the AfghaNet upcoming/ongoing projects of LAN/WLAN to ensure the availability of the network/networking environment in AfghaNet offices and projects.
• Consult and collaborate with AfghaNet Tech Team, Site Coordinators, and peer engineering and operations teams.
• Design, implement, and support network infrastructure and peering architectures to support AfghaNet requirements.
• Configure, troubleshoot and analyze network protocols (including IPv4, BGP, SR, ISIS) and advanced IP network services (including MPLS, RSVP, L2, and L3 VPNs).
• Develop, implement, and use automation (commercial and in-house developed) and tooling technologies to measure and improve network performance.
• Configure and deploy Cisco ASR Routers, and Mikrotik Router, at sites and remote locations by directing remote hands technicians.
• Configure and deploy Cisco Firepower Next-Gen Firewall, Sophos, and pfSense
• Monitor and perform capacity/feasibility studies and resolve network capacity issues. Identify, develop, and deploy tools supporting network services.
• Configuration of routing and switching devices, host IP, and voice services.
• Provide remote support to on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation.
• Troubleshoot and monitoring of network problems such as LAN/WAN traffic, usage, point-to-point connectivity, and performance.
• Implementation of backup and restoration procedures for all network devices.
• Maintaining logs and reported problems with corrective measures taken.
• Familiar with any of the SEIM solutions, and monitoring tools such as manage engine, PRTG, rocket Cyber, Splunk and etc.
