Job Summary
The Network Engineer is responsible for the LAN/WLAN plan, documentation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and all hierarchical tasks that are coming through Manager-Network Infrastructures & Security.
Network Engineer is under the direct guidance and supervision of the NIS - Manager/NIS - Supervisor to provide daily technical help to the Network Team Leader regarding the plan, implementation, and maintaining the AWCC upcoming/ongoing projects of LAN/WLAN to ensure the availability of the network/networking environment in AWCC offices and projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures effective functioning of the WLAN/LAN, Communication Support, Network Administration, and use of documenting tools focusing on the achievement of the following results:
Compliance with corporate WLAN/LAN maintenance and technology standards/policies, guidelines, and procedures for the AWCC office's information technology environment.
Identification and implementation of innovative uses of the WLAN and LAN which would enhance the AWCC project's effectiveness.
AWCC Project's plan deployment, configurations, and maintenance of the WLAN and LAN communications on ongoing/upcoming projects.
Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and management projects.
Reconfiguration of new equipment and systems in WLAN and LAN and take corrective actions in case of failure.
Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP, and voice services.
Provide remote support to on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation.
Provide remote troubleshooting and fault find if the issues occur upon initial installation.
Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers, and service desk engineers regularly.
Speak to customers via email and phone for initial requirement capture.
Troubleshooting and monitoring network problems: traffic, usage, and performance.
Implementation of backup and restoration procedures for all Juniper, Cisco, and other brand devices in the customer network's Core, AGG, and Access Layers.
Maintaining network access policies and controlling systems to ensure that all the corporate Access Layers and types of equipment are properly repaired and working to maintain satisfactory communications.
Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
Maintenance of logs of reported problems and corrective measures taken.
Administer the AWCC Projects corporate network to provide a stable and responsive environment.
Maintain up-to-date parameters of information for the network devices including network mapping, configuration backup, and so on.
Monitor the network availability 24/7 and report the stability to the Supervisor – NIS or Team Leader.
Troubleshoot WAN connection with any kind of point-to-point links to ensure stable connectivity between ISP and customer offices, remote sites, and AWCC regional offices.
The Network Engineer is a technology professional who is highly skilled in maintaining the connectivity of networks in terms of data, voice, calls, videos, and wire/wireless network service.
Experts with voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP) skills, which is a mix of voice, video, and knowledge on one network. A Network Engineer designs, tests, installs, and maintains both local VoIP systems in projects.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Industrial Level Certification Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in computer science/information technology or related fields is required.
Must have completed the JNCIA, JNCIS/CCNA, CCNA Wireless, and CCNP training.
Preferred certification holders (JNCIA, CCNA, CCNA wireless Network, and so on).
Work Experience Requirements:
3 to 4 years of experience in the Information Technology field.
Experience in PC support, remote communications, LAN/WLAN/WAN.
Excellent Technical skills and knowledge of Information technology Networks particularly Juniper, Cisco, Ubiquiti, and MikroTik switches, routers, and access points.
Knowledge of wireless LAN infrastructure - Wireless APs (802.11x) and experience managing wireless end-user devices.
Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, good negotiation and organizational skills.
Ability to provide 24/7 network services for AWCC Projects.
