Job Summary

Network Engineer – CCIE is responsible for the planning, analyzing, designing, development, testing, quality assurance, installation, configuration implementation, integration, and maintenance of the network infrastructure. The Network Engineer – CCIE focuses on design of complex IT networks with BGP, OSPF and EIGRP routing protocols. The position is at times expected to provide technical leadership to operations groups as required for critical incidents and problems. Additionally, the position will evaluate network designs to identify and resolve design issues and enforce standards. Performs all other duties as assigned by Chief Operations Officer (CEO) - GTR. Implements and performs according to established standards.

Duties & Responsibilities


Providing consultation during the planning and implementation of successfully tested new technologies

Analyzing and defining network requirements, defining and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure.

Configuring and optimizing network servers, hubs, routers, and switches, and analyzing network workload

Monitoring network capacity and performance, diagnosing and resolving network problems.

Developing network backup and recovery procedures.

Installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading network operating systems software; and/or

Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/ information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services.

Test, install, configure, and maintain networks including hardware (servers, hubs, bridges, switches, and routers) and software that permit the sharing and transmission of information

Develop and design “Fit for Purpose” network solutions based on accepted customer standards for new projects .

Identify bill of materials for network procurement including, but not limited to, switches, routers, circuits, etc.

Responsible for technical oversight of moves, adds and changes in the client network environment.

Research, evaluate and recommend new technology solutions to address emerging business and technical needs.

Assist in installing hardware, systems, and software for networks, and their maintenance and operations.

Providing Support for administration of servers and server clusters in projects.

Assist in designing all system back-up and restore protocol of the projects technical specifications.

Assist in planning and supporting network and computing infrastructure for projects.

Document all network infrastructure design, implementation and guide future maintenance.

Assist in devising monitoring systems for optimum performance of networks and recommend best practices.

Assist in developing security and confidentiality plans for physical and logical layers of network and accessories.

Perform data risk assessments for the network sites, infrastructure and data processing systems to ensure functioning data processing activities and security measures.

Train client’s representative and end users in network maintenance, security and monitoring performance.

Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.

Assist in devising disaster recovery operations/ procedures.

Assist bidding committee in preparation of technical specifications of any potential bids.

Assist Project Managers in designing technical specifications, integration plans and other areas where required.

Any other task related to the field assigned by the supervisor or his/her designee.

Job Requirements


The candidate must be Cisco CCIE certified

Information assurance certifications (CISSP, CAP, Security+, etc.) are preferred

Having Bachelor Degree of computer science, information technology or related is preferred

Hands on practice Windows system, Cisco Systems, UNIX, Linux, Novell

Networking: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP,

Latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS

Experience supporting an operational LAN/WAN using variety of Cisco layer 2 and layer 3 products

Provide configuration and troubleshooting support for customer incidents related to Network Support.

Research/develop and provide training for hardware/software maintenance and product support.

Understanding of ITIL standards and practices

Ability to work in team and network, motivated and able to work under pressure and for long hours.
Satisfactory writing ability, proficiency in English and national languages.
