The Assistant Nothern Development Project Officer is responsible to assist the Project Coordinator and his/her team with daily and routine administrative work within the unit. S/he should be able to work with computer, maintain the filling systems, salary preparations, do regular fileld visits (for various periods of times), assist with external relation with partners in the northern provinces, and other general office and project duties. The Northern Development Project is an intergrated and comprehensive rural development project working in Samangan, Balkh and Jawzjan provinces. The Assistant Officer is a new position within SCA and the potential candidate should be prepared to develop position in cooperation with the team responsible. For an active, alert and innovative person with interst in development issues of rural areas this position offers great challenges and opportunities.

• Develop good co-operation with SCA units and local authorities
• To occasionally supervise assigned subordinates, as well as the temporary staff and advise them for the improvement of their work.
• To translate to and from English, Dari and Pashtu correspondence, reports, instructions, etc. When needed function as translator to the Expatriate Coordinator.
• To assist the Northern Development Project with typing of correspondence, reports, etc, take minutes of meetings and distribute these to concerned people.
• Register delivery sheets and forwards to Logistic and follow up of deliveries through Logistic.
• To assist with various field studies, compilation and analysis of data and drafting of related reports.
• To assist with budget preparation and expenditure reports.
• To assist the project team in facilitating of staff and partners
• To participate NDP management meetings, and Mazar Project Office admin and finance meetings.
• To maintain good cooperative with the provincial line agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders
• To actively contribute within the field of competency as the Project Coordinator assign.
• At least graduate of 12th Grade (Baccalaureate). Graduates from a relevant college or university with a BA or BBA will be preferred.
• At least 3 years in a similar position, preferably experience of work with a NGO.
• Fluent in Dari, Pashto and English, written and spoken.
• Be familiar with administrative and rural project activities.
• Strong computer knowledge at operation level (SCA has Ms. Office as its standard software) familiar with database is an advantage.
• Being an Afghan Citizen.
