About Creative Think for Change Organization

CTCO is a non-governmental, non-political and independent organization established in March 13, 2019 by a group of educated youth in Badakhshan province. The organization is registered with Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan with 4666 registration number. The aim of the organization is to work with poor and marginalized communities to bring changes in their lives.


CTCO is committed to fighting against poverty and eliminating of sufferings of the poor and marginalized communities in Afghanistan particularly women, youth and people with disabilities. 

CTCO's main focus is to work with poor women because of their inaccessibility to the proper resources and strives to empower them as it helps the whole families and entire communities to overcome poverty. Women and youth are at the heart of CTCO community-based efforts to improve basic education, increase access to basic resources, develop economic opportunity, and protect natural resources. CTCO also provides emergency response to IDPs and other disaster affected people to rebuild their lives.

Job Summary

CTCO is required an expert nutrition trainer for its project in Badakhshan province. The incumbent is responsible to provide training for the target project beneficiaries based on donor requirement.

Duties & Responsibilities

Main responsibilities and Tasks:


Training

  • Develop nutrition training manual based on the project requirement.
  • Deliver hygiene and nutrition training to the project team and beneficiaries based on the project work plan.
  • Follow the effective management and performance of beneficiaries during the trainings.
  • Adapt training material according to the identified needs and on donor requirements
  • Plan trainings, refresher trainings according to the needs.

Field activities

  • Assess the current hygiene and nutrition situation of the household through field visits.
  • Create Nutrition Action Plans for each group.
  • Build capacity of the participants to prepare effective Nutrition, Hygiene and Health Promotion intervention within their living environment.
  • Advocate for means to reduce malnutrition cases within the target communities by addressing underlying causes to malnutrition: poor hand washing practices, poor human fecal management, safe water storage and treatment at the household level etc.
  • The systematic of implementation of nutrition, hygiene and health promotion within the community level.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training program using questionnaires, interviews and by observation in order to plan future trainings or amend the existing ones.


Reporting

  • The day-to-day update of activities both in office and in the field
  • Ensure proper recording of the information related to the implementation of program.
  • Submit accurate project report on activities on a regular basis.
  • Participate in meetings regarding the project.
  • Writing success stories of the project.

Job Requirements

Competencies:


  • 3 years’ experience in leading trainings in nutrition or health sector or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Dari and working knowledge of English is necessary
  • Ability to articulate ideas in front of audience and facilitate group interaction
  • Good relationship with communities in order to run and implement the program efficiently
  • Demonstrated organization, planning and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, GPS and other mobile phone applications
  • Can work well according to a schedule for training
  • Good communications, interpersonal and reporting skills
  • Very good self-management competencies.
  • Good understanding of humanitarian principles, standards and frameworks.
  • Be able to travel to remote districts

 

 

Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):

 

A. Education:        

  • At least university degree in the area of health (preferably child and mother nutrition) and other relevant field.

 

 

B. Work Experience      

  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in similar position in a reputable INGO, government or national NGO.
