The Operations Associate under the direct supervision of the Sr. Operations Manager and general direction from the Chief of Operations is responsible for the following assigned tasks:
• Monitor the current operations by regularly visiting the field operations.
• Preparation of briefing documents for operation meeting.
• Set up and control the mines/UXOs reference facility.
• Control the daily attendance of all personnel in the current operations staff.
• Review all operations reports from the contractors (weekly, monthly, completion suspension etc).
• Daily interface with the IT database facility.
• Preparation of reports and statistics.
• Act as a member of Board of Inquiry if requested.
• Maintenance and control of tasks order for cluster.
• Provide technical advice on the equipment needed by the field operators.
• When required coordinate with contractors on operations matters.
• Control and coordinate the manning of the mine action operational radio channel.
• Assist the Sr. Operations Manager with the production of all the necessary statistics and reports.
• Bachelor’s degree in related fields (is an asset), secondary diploma.
• 5 years experience related experience
• Experience at working with foreigners and international organizations.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and local languages, specifically Pashto and Dari
Other Competencies
• Field experience with proven EOD and mine clearance and knowledge of de-mining explosive ordnance equipment (MDD and mechanical experience preferable).
• Proven experience in the management of mines/UXOs clearance operations and through knowledge of de-mining SOPs and TSGs.
• Leadership qualities.
• Sound computer skills.
• Self reliant and able to work independently and to a deadline.
• Excellent computer skills.
