Job Summary

The incumbent shall perform under the direct supervision of the Head of Technical Unit (HTU) and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The position is based in Kabul, Afghanistan. The Operators and Archive Chief shall be responsible to carry out the following tasks:

Duties & Responsibilities

 Work closely with the Head of Technical Unit (HTU) and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to develop policies, procedures and systems for the television and radio archives at HUB Television and Radio (HUB T/R).
 In consultation with the Head of Technical Unit (HTU), identify an appropriate place and prepare archives for the HUB Television and Radio (HUB T/R).
 Classify and organize archive data in an effective and efficient manner.
 Provide technical support to the Head of Technical Unit (HTU) and other technical teams on the installation of radio studios at HUB T/R.
 Provide capacity building sessions and on-the-job training to the newly hired Radio Operators at the HUB T/R.
 Record and edit radio programs in accordance with the HUB T/R’s broadcast policies and rules.
 Conduct the programming of Sheba Radio and any other related communications equipment.
 Responsible for receiving and transmitting any unclassified and confidential messages from the audience.
 Monitor the overall works of the Radio Operators, conduct quality checks and report the progress to the Senior Management Body on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
 Coordinate all broadcast activities with the technical teams of Sheba Radio and any other relevant staff.
 Responsible to ensure appropriate cleaning and maintenance of the Radio equipment in a timely manner.
 Produce radio spots and prepare the recorded radio programs for broadcast.

Job Requirements

Education:
 University degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Mass Media, Computer Science, or equivalent.
 Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint - working knowledge of the Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere, radio equipment such as Mixer, etc. is necessary.
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Experience:
 4-5 years of professional work experience in the broadcast media at the national and/or international levels.
 Experience of working in the related geography.
Skills:
 Should have the ability to supervise Radio Operators and any other relevant staff in their day-to-day works.
 Ability to work as a team leader/team member.
 Ability to work under minimal supervision.
 Working knowledge of the archive management and multimedia.

Language Proficiency:
 Very good in English, Pashto and Dari, both oral and written.
 Fluency in both written and oral English is a strong advantage.
